Dana DiBenedetti, PhD, Vice President of Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment at RTI-HS, is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in patient-centered research, including in consulting, industry and academia. She has extensive experience in conducting qualitative and survey research with patients, caregivers, and clinicians across a wide range of therapeutic areas, the development and validation of patient- and caregiver-completed instruments and providing support to clients related to negotiations with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including development of COA evidence dossiers and briefing documents for regulatory submission. She also has considerable experience in the design and implementation of interview studies within clinical trial settings, is well published in this area and has presented to the FDA and to scientific audiences on this methodology.
Dr. DiBenedetti’s broad clinical and assessment experience includes expertise in various populations, including psychiatry (e.g., depression, schizophrenia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, binge eating disorder), hemophilia, women’s health (e.g., endometriosis, menopause), and detmatology. She also has experience in various pediatric and adult rare diseases, virology, endocrinology, sexual medicine and substance abuse areas.
Dr. DiBenedetti has authored numerous manuscripts and scientific presentations on patients' and caregivers' experiences, including disease burden, quality of life, experiences with and satisfaction with treatment, and other outcomes in various patient populations, as well as on instrument development; she has served as a reviewer for several journals, including Addictive Behaviors, Annals of Behavioral Medicine, Clinical Therapeutics, Drug and Therapy Perspectives, Health Psychology, International Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Medical Care, Reproductive Sciences, The Patient, and Value in Health.
