Saurabh Nagar, BPharm, MS, is a Director in the Real World Data and Analytics group at RTI-HS. In his current role, he leads and conducts health economics and outcomes research studies, including retrospective database analysis, comparative effectiveness research, chart reviews, and scientific publications. His responsibilities include designing studies to evaluate the impact of treatments on clinical and economic outcomes, developing study protocols and statistical analysis plans, and assessing the potential of different types of databases (e.g., claims, electronic medical records, surveys, chart reviews) to meet sponsor's research needs. He is skilled in using statistical software, such as SAS, to conduct multivariable regression analysis, such as survival analysis, logistic regression, and models for count and cost data, as well as using econometric techniques in health economics and outcomes research. In addition to his work with database analytics, Mr. Nagar has also authored several manuscripts and payer-requested data-on-files and conducted literature reviews to support value propositions. He has experience supporting products across a variety of disease conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental disorders, asthma, oncology, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, hand eczema, and cardiovascular conditions.
Prior to joining RTI-HS, Mr. Nagar worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a Manager of Analytics for 5 years. His primary role was to support the US Health Outcomes group in conducting health economics and outcomes research studies using internal and external databases and reviewing scientific study protocols before study kickoff. Mr. Nagar is a pharmacist by training, having received his bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the Bangalore University in India and his master's degree in pharmacy administration from the University of Houston in Texas.
Mr. Nagar has presented at several national meetings and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, Current Medical Research and Opinion, Pain Practice, International Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, Respiratory Research, International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Nanotechnology, and Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy.
